THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first phase of the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations for admissions to professional colleges began at 10 a.m. on Saturday even as a delay in the receipt of the data sheet containing the key number gave anxious moments to many students across the State. On Saturday morning, the office of the CEE received frantic calls from students and parents complaining about the delay in the receipt of the data sheet. The key number is necessary for a student to log on to cee.kerala.gov.in/keam to register the course-college options. According to officials of the Entrance Commissionerate, the delay in the receipt of the data sheet may have been caused due to delay in postal delivery on account of the hartals recently. Students who have not received the data sheet or have lost their passwords should contact the officials mentioned in the list. A link to the web page containing this list is also provided on the web site designated for registering course-college options. Students should contact these officials in person, along with their admit card for the entrance examination, to get a duplicate data sheet or reset the password to their home page. According to Commissionerate officials, a good number of students from all over the State began registering course-college options right from the time the site was thrown open. By 6.30 p.m. 9,870 students had registered 4,35,176 course-college options on the web site. The first trial allotment would be held on July 10 and the second one on July 12. At 10 a.m. on July 14, the window for submitting options will close; no options can be submitted after that and no revisions to the options list would be made. While the window is open, though, a candidate can revise the course-college options list any number of times. The first allotment would be held on the evening of July 17.
