Table Tennis
HYDERABAD: The all-India inter-institutional table tennis championships will be held at the Samaj Sadan Hall and Ayudh Sabagruh, Ordnance Factory, Ambajhari, Nagpur from August 2 to 6, according to S.M. Sultan, Associate Vice-President, Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI). Performances in the said tournament would be reckoned for rankings on par with the zonal competitions, he said. Conducted by the Ambajhari Sports Club, under the auspices of the TTFI and the Ordnance Factory Sports Control Board, Kolkata, it carries total prize money of nearly Rs. 2.25 lakh. Three-member teams divided into four groups will compete on a round-robin format in stage I, followed by the knockout quarter-finals. Matches will be for best of five games in the individual preliminaries and team competitions, while it will be best of seven games in the individual main draw.
