Rahul Gandhi arrives in Bhopal

Takes part in talks in view of coming Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls

BHOPAL: Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival here on Saturday morning. He is on a one-day visit to the State Capital.

Mr. Gandhi attended a special function at Bhopal’s leading centre for children’s education, the Sanskar Valley School, where he was engaged in a prolonged question and answer session with a large number of children.

Later Mr. Gandhi went to the State Congress headquarters where he took part in a brainstorming exercise with the State Congress president, Suresh Pachouri, chairman of the State Congress Campaign Committee Ajay Singh, State Congress office-bearers, heads of the Congress frontal organisations and district party unit office-bearers.

The discussions were held keeping in view the coming Madhya Pradesh Assembly election. Also present were All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary V. Narayanaswamy, Union Ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Jitin Prasad, AICC secretary Meenakshi Natarajan, Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Jamuna Devi and former State Congress president Subhash Yadav.
