Woman, daughter found dead

Staff Reporter

Coimbatore: A woman and her daughter working on a poultry farm near Anaimalai on the Pollachi – Kottur road near Pollachi, about 50 km from Coimbatore, were found dead under suspicious circumstances on Saturday.

It is learnt that the victims were living in a building on the poultry farm.

The incident is said to have taken place in the small hours of Saturday, when the male member of the family and the neighbours had gone out for work.

It is learnt that Meena (35), wife of Murugan, screamed for help.

When those at work at the poultry unit turned up, they found Meena lying dead on her bed in a pool of blood.

Some time later, the workers found the victim’s daughter Selvi (18) lying dead in a pit a little away from the building.

Police suspect that it could be a case of murder after an attempt to outrage the modesty of the girl.

Forensic experts from Coimbatore and other police officials visited the scene of the crime.
