Vasavi gesture

Traders and members of Vasavi Greater Club, Guntur, have floated a society ‘Vasavi Greater Educational Society’ to help meritorious poor students in Guntur district. The society would be inaugurated on Sunday and scholarships of Rs.15 lakh will be given to 250 students. At a press conference on Saturday, club president Ch. Somasekhara Rao said that members of the club had been helping the poor in a small way for the past five years, but had decided to make the scholarships useful, so began collecting funds and 130 donors had come forward for the cause, he added.
