State has adequate stock of atta, dhal

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation has sufficient stock of dhal, fortified atta and palm oil for distribution to ration cardholders.

On an average, 5,263 tonnes of toor dhal, 1,978 tonnes of blackgram dhal, 2,375 tonnes of fortified atta and 55.34 lakh packets of palm oil are being sold every month through the special public distribution system, says an official release.

The State has 6,310 tonnes of toor dhal, 3,406 tonnes of blackgram dhal, 1,558 tonnes of fortified atta and 21.56 lakh litres of palm oil. The State is getting 1.72 crore packets of palm oil a month from June for distribution.
