UGC pay panel meets teachers

NEW DELHI: The Pay Review Committee of the University Grants Commission has interacted with various sections of Delhi-based universities on the working and service conditions of the teachers.

The committee, headed by Prof. G. K. Chadha, interacted with Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Deepak Pental and his counterparts at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and Jamia Hamdard, K. K. Aggarwal and S. Ahmad, respectively, this past week. The overwhelming opinion was to improve the working and service conditions of teachers so as to retain talent in the profession.
