Alleged extortionists arrested
NEW DELHI: Two men who allegedly extorted money from businessmen have been arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi police. The Cell received information that Khalil Ahmed, allegedly involved in 24 cases, had been making extortion calls to businessmen in the Walled City of Delhi.
Acting on a tip-off that he had his hideout in Lodhi Colony, a team under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police L.N. Rao intercepted a car used by him. Khalil allegedly disclosed that he along with his gang used to target the owners of under construction houses in the Walled City area for extortion. He allegedly took Rs.40,000 to 50,000 of protection money from each victim.
