One case of dengue reported

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Though there has been a decline in the number of chikungunya cases, one confirmed dengue case has been reported at the government-run Lady Curzon and Bowring Hospital.

Hospital Resident Medical Officer S. Rajanna said the patient Mudduraj (32) was from Bommanahalli. “We treated him as an in-patient for four days. We received the blood report that confirmed he had dengue, on Friday. But as it was not of a severe form, we discharged him,” he said.

However, the number of chikungunya cases has come down at K.C. General and BBMP referral hospitals. While the Srirampuram and Hosahalli referral hospitals received only one case each with symptoms of the viral disease, 12 cases were reported at K.C. General Hospital. Of these, three were admitted in the chikungunya ward of the hospital.
