MANGALORE: Balakedarara Hitharakshana Vedike, Surathkal, has urged the Deputy Commissioner to direct the Station House Officers (SHO) to instruct organisers of various festivals not to use plastic covers for distribution of ‘prasad’. A press release said that SHOs convene meeting with the organisers to discuss about law and order arrangements in the run-up to festivals, and the same forum could be used to convey a message against use of plastics.
