Leadership camp for students School notes

The 19-member students’ council of the Christu Jayanthi Public School was inducted at an investiture ceremony.

Priests from the Rajagiri group of institutions, principal Saji Varghese and parents of the students were present.

The young student leaders will attend a three-day residential leadership camp at Hillock, Ooty in mid-July.

The observance of Ramayana month at the Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar will begin on July 16. The week-long celebrations will include bhajans, quiz etc.,.

Eminent people will deliver speeches on the relevance of the month.

“Anecdotes from the Ramayana will be read out for highlighting its message,” said Nirmala Venkiteshwaran, principal.

October will see 16 girls, 10 boys and five teachers from the Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar School and the Boys School in Kent, U.K. visit the school under a student-exchange programme. “We try to incorporate something new in the tour each year.

The process will soon begin to find out Bhavan’s students who would host the visiting students. The food habits of the guests, whether they like pets or not, whether they insist on a separate room etc., will be taken into account,” she said.
