Himachal plans better life for senior citizens

Shimla: In order to provide a dignified life to its elderly population, the Himachal Pradesh government is planning to set up day-care centres for old persons suffering from dementia.

These centres would have the take care of 20 old persons every month. A sum of Rs. 1.20 lakh will be provided to agencies showing credible track record in maintaining old age homes. The main object of this scheme is to improve the quality of life of old people by providing them entertainment opportunities and encourage them to lead life actively.
