Fertilizer Ministry intervention sought

PUDUCHERRY: Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) M. Ramadass has sought the intervention of the Union Ministry of Fertilizers to tide over the shortage of fertilizers in the Union Territory.

In a letter to Union Minister for Fertilizer Ram Vilas Paswan on Saturday, he said fertilizer companies had restricted supply to around 20 per cent of the demand. Major fertilizer companies had clubbed Puducherry with Tamil Nadu for regional allocation.

Puducherry should be considered a separate unit if the farmers have to get uninterrupted supply of fertilizers.
