Jajpur: A deer wounded by an arrow hurled by poachers was rescued by villagers of Singhapur village of Jajpur district on Saturday, forest officials said. The deer, which strayed into the village in the wee hours, was caught by villagers who then informed forest officials. The one-year-old herbivore was attacked by poachers armed with bows and arrows, Dibakar Panda, Forester of Chandikhol Range, said. – PTI
