The long-awaited Chiranjeevi’s new political party is still travelling in a tunnel which may likely see the light in August this year, say media reports. Already there are numerable political parties existing and newly-launched ones like Mana Party, Talli Telangana and Lok Satta testing their luck to occupy the coveted post in the government. As the adage goes, “united we stand, divided we fall”, no party gets half plus one majority. It is advised that Chiranjeevi should choose a like-minded party to join instead of launching a new one. The best and fair choice is Lok Satta. S. Vijaya Seshu Kothagudem Firm ideology neededNow-a-days Chiranjeevi’s political party has become a hot topic for discussion. Even before it was launched, several leaders in major political parties are building castles in air. They are preparing grounds to contest on Chiranjeevi’s party ticket. It is for sure Chiranjeevi’s party would be one more party if it offers ticket to these spent forces. The film actor should be careful in selecting candidates and should have firm ideology. C. Ranga Rajan Tadepalligudem Ensure supply of pure waterThe Eluru Municipal Corporation has supplied water for half an hour a day during the summer season, and it is continuing even today. But, the water is not potable. The situation is no good in other municipalities. People are forced to spend hundreds of rupees to purchase the drinking water. The local bodies and State government are spending crores of rupees on various schemes leaving the water supply to winds. The politicians and officials, instead of making tall claims, should take adequate measures to supply pure and fresh water. Mohd. Nazeeruddin Eluru Unhealthy practiceIt has become a regular practice for some urchins to enter the express trains that stop at stations to collect discarded plastic disposable bottles from compartments. It indicates two aspects child labour and reuse of plastic water bottles. If the used water bottles were collected for refilling, the practice should be curbed forthwith, since the bottles are collected from the most unhygienic places. Secondly, the Central and State governments are emphasising on the eradication of child labour. If they were sincere, why are they not taking any action in this regard? I Subash Samuel Ulavapadu On a sticky wicketIt appears as if the TDP is passing through difficult times. Senior leaders are deserting it one after the other. First, it was Kotagiri Vidyadhar Rao, and now T. Devender Goud. But, TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu appears to be in no mood to take stock of the situation. People feel that Naidu is still unable to come out of the coterie of a few leaders. It is time for him to understand the reality and rejuvenate the party and cadres. S. Kotilingam Khammam
