Martyr Subedar Krishan Kumar Malik cremated

CHANDIGARH: The body of martyr Naib Subedar Krishan Kumar Malik, who laid down his life while fighting terrorists in Kupwara region of Srinagar, was cremated at his native village Mokhara in Rohtak district on Sunday with full State and military honours.

Tearful adieu

Villagers, including women and children, bade a tearful adieu to the national hero. Meham MLA Anand Singh Dangi and SDM Manish Nagpal paid rich tributes to the martyr on behalf of the Haryana Government.

Subedar Balbir Singh who accompanied the mortal remains of the martyr said that the terrorists ambushed the army personnel in Kupwara region on July 2 and 3.

In the two-day long confrontation, army personnel killed six terrorists while five armymen including Subedar Krishan Kumar lost their lives.

Joined in 1986

Subedar Krishan Kumar joined the Jat Regiment in 1986 after completing his education. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
