Cop hurt as militants open fire
SRINAGAR: A police personnel was seriously injured when militants opened fire on a search party in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
Constable Mushtaq Ahmad was hit by two bullets when a search party came under fire from militants hiding in a house at Wachi village in Pulwama district in the evening, official sources said.
The police party fired back leading to a gunbattle which was still continuing till last reports came in.
The team went to the village following specific information about presence of militants in a house. The inmates of the house were evacuated and efforts are on to neutralise the militants believed to be two in number and affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen outfit. - PTI
