Tension in Balaramapuram

Thiruvananthapuram: A tense situation prevailed in Balaramapuram following a standoff between activists of the National Development Front (NDF) and Vaikunta Swamy Dharma Pracharana Sabha (VSDP) on Sunday. According to the police, the NDF activists damaged a car of VSDP leader Viswambaran on Saturday. The VSDP retaliated by smashing the windscreen of NDF leader Karim’s car on Sunday. The police stopped a VSDP protest march from moving into a NDF-dominated pocket at Vazhimukku on Sunday afternoon. — Staff Reporter
