Action likely against policemen

TAMBARAM: A couple of policemen attached to the Selaiyur police station are expected to face a departmental enquiry following an incident in East Tambaram on Saturday night, when one of them is reported to have passed on a false message over the wireless. The two , on rounds at the Railway Ground in East Tambaram, noticed a couple of youths quarrelling.
While one of the policemen tried to stop the quarrel, another informed the control room over wireless that there was a major law and order problem. Senior officials of St. Thomas Mount visited the spot and were surprised to see everything normal.
