Dasmunsi hospitalised

Kolkata: Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi complained of chest pain during a journey in Malda district of north Bengal on Sunday evening and was admitted to a private hospital here after being flown in to the city.

A special BSF plane carrying Mr. Dasmunsi took off from the Purnea air base in Bihar at 10.15 p.m. and reached the NSC Bose International Airport here at 11.10 p.m. He was driven straight to Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, airport sources said.

The 62-year-old Minister was admitted to the ICCU, where cardiologist Dr. Rabin Chakraborty, Dr. Ramesh Seshadry and Mr. Dasmunsi’s family physician, Dr. Tirthankar Chakraborty, would treat him, hospital sources said. — PTI
