Subash and Agni clinch titles

CHENNAI: Nineteen-year-old M. Subash (Southern Railway) clinched his maiden men’s title with a hard-fought 11-5, 12-14, 8-11, 11-9, 11-6, 8-11, 11-8 win over his club-mate R.S. Raja (SDAT-Chandra Academy) in the Sri Vaishnavi Productions and G.V. Films fifth State-ranking table tennis tournament at the Hall of TT, Nehru Stadium, here on Sunday.

U.V. Agni of SDAT-AKG Club won her second successive women’s title defeating A.V. Nivedita (IOC) 11-4, 11-9, 6-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-7. S. Nikhil (Chennai Table Tennis Foundation) won his first cadet boys’ title of the season.

Tamil Nadu Special Police blanked SAI Training Centre (Chennai) 4-0 in the Young Challengers FC State-level football tournament on Sunday. Bharath Kingsley and Sundaravanna Kannan shared two goals each.
