BANGALORE: Military veterans from the State on Sunday marched to the Vidhana Soudha and submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa asking him to help them get justice from the Union Government in resettlement and pension. Convenor of the Bangalore Chapter of Military Veterans Movement for Justice, Colonel S.S. Rajan apprised the Chief Minister of the hardships that the military veterans were facing in getting resettlement of pay and review of the “order of precedence”. AppealHe also appealed to the Chief Minister that the State should take the lead in introducing adequate welfare measures for proper resettlement by legislation that would give effect to lateral induction of service officers. Mr. Yeddyurappa said he would make a special mention of their case when he took up the issue with the Union Government. About 500 military veterans from the Air Force, the Army and the Navy participated in the march from Minsk Square to the Vidhana Soudha.
