For better facilities: Residents of Gundalpatti waiting at the Krishangiri Collectorate to submit a petition to the Collector seeking better water supply. Krishnagiri: Residents of Kollarichan kottai in Gundalpatti panchayat near here came to the Krishnagiri Collectorate with empty pots and submitted a petition demanding officials to streamline water supply. Over 200 residents from the village complained to officials about the erratic supply of water since Friday. They said they were facing problems of mounting garbage and overflowing sewage canals. The residents threatened to stage agitation if action was not taken in order to rectify the situation and make drinking water available to them. Residents also complained that the motor pump of a bore well in the village was not working for the past one week. We have informed the panchayat officials but no efforts have been made to sort out the problem, they alleged. As a result residents were forced to fetch water from the wells and pipes located three km away from their area. Despite repeated representations, officials had not initiated any concrete action to restore the water supply, they said. They later submitted a petition in this regard to the Collector Santhosh Babu.
