MALAPPURAM: The women’s wing of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), Vanitha League, will hold its district convention here on Wednesday. IUML State general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty will inaugurate the convention to be held as part of the party’s gearing up for the next general elections. Apart from the party leaders from the district, several leaders from other districts will also attend the convention, said Vanitha League leader K.P. Mariyumma. The day-long convention, to be held at Kiliyamannil Auditorium on Panakkad road, will have three exclusive sessions on topics such as ‘women and politics’, ‘relevance of the IUML in the 21st century’, and ‘women’s empowerment and politics in Islam’. Senior leaders of the Muslim League would handle these topics, said Ms. Mariyumma.
