Work on bypass road to be revived

TIRUVANNAMALAI: Tiruvannamalai Collector M. Rajendran has taken steps to revive the suspended work on the laying of a 11-km bypass road to provide a link from Vellore Road to Tirukkovilur Road as part of the Arcot-Tiruvarur National Highway, the work on which was going on for the last five years.
According to a release from the Information and Public Relations Officer, Tiruvannamalai, while work on the bypass road was completed for a distance of 10 km, the remaining work on one km was stopped for some reasons. This work has now been revived at the instance of the Collector who inspected the road on Saturday.
The Bypass Road passed through Inam Kariyendal, Vengikkal, Vada Andappattu, Kiliyapattu, Nochimalai, S. Keezhnachipattu, Keezhalathur and Melathikkan villages.
