Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has filed a counter affidavit (CA) in the registry of the Allahabad High Court on a writ petition of Sahara India Commercial Corporation Limited (SICCL) against demolition of some parts of Sahara Shahar here on June 18. In its counter affidavit filed on Saturday in the Lucknow Bench, the LDA has termed the constructions in the Sahara Shahar as “illegal and unathorised”. The 270 acres of land including 130 acres from LDA and 140 from Nagar Nigam was given to Sahara for developing a residential colony in unlawful manner and thus the transfer of land to Shahar was null and void, it stated. The LDA also said in its reply that the entire area has been developed by the Sahara as its “personal and private property”. The use of land by raising such constructions as are existing on the land was absolutely in contravention of the terms of licence/lease allegedly executed in favour of SICCL by Nagar Nigam. - PTI
