Harish evasive on TRS-TDP alliance

Staff Reporter

ADILABAD: Steering clear of a definite response to reports of a future alliance between Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), TRS leader T. Harish Rao on Monday said the formation of a separate State remained the prime agenda of his party.

He however opined that the rapidly changing political environment in the State could throw up possibilities of an alliance with any party provided that party conforms to the agenda of the TRS.

Mr. Harish Rao, Ms. Ch. Suhasini Reddy and some other TRS leaders from Adilabad spoke to the media at the picturesque setting of Arjuni village after a visit to Kolamguda school and the Primary Health Centre at Jhari in Narnoor mandal.

“Any decision on future alliances will be taken in consultation with the leaders in the party. It is the opinion of people in Telangana and its intelligentsia that would matter while such issues come to be discussed,” he elaborated.

Fever deaths

As regards his visit to the agency area, the TRS leader criticised the government for the fever deaths in the mandal. He pointed out to a bore well that lay defunct just because it was not fitted with a handle.

There was no proper drainage here. His interaction with villagers at Kolamguda and Jhari revealed that the cook at the Satellite Ashrama Primary School at the former place was not paid his remuneration for more than two years. The school itself did not have proper premises for children to sleep. The doctor at the Jhari PHC was absent when the MLA reached the facility.
