Cooks demand housing

Bangalore: Members of Cooks, Assistant Cooks and House Maids’ Association urged Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa to provide them houses or residential sites in the city.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Association president Vidyamala pointed out that the cooks were from the most financially backward class. “We neither have job security nor any welfare facilities from the Government. Though we all fall below the poverty line, the Government has not identified us as beneficiaries of any welfare scheme,” she said. — Staff Reporter
