This Day That Age
Mr. V.K. Krishna Menon, Union Defence Minister, addressing the first passing-out parade of No.51 (Delhi) Squadron of the Auxiliary Air Force in New Delhi on July 6, said that the Auxiliary Air Force and all other territorial forces were an integral part of the country’s defence set-up. These cadets constitute the first batch of auxiliary pilots to win their coveted “wings” and also the first batch of technical officers and airmen to qualify as engineers and tradesmen. The Defence Minister said that safeguarding the security of the country was as much the responsibility of the regular forces as of the auxiliaries and every other citizen of the country.
