Anganwadi workers threaten indefinite stir

Belgaum: The Anganwadi Workers and Helpers’ Federation affiliated to the All India Trade Union Congress, has threatened to launch an indefinite strike if the government fails to concede their long-pending demands within 10 days. A large number of anganwadi workers and helpers from different parts of the city and district took out a procession here on Monday.

They later staged a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office shouting slogans in support of their demands on Monday. They submitted a memorandum with a list of their demands to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. Those who led the demonstration included federation vice-president Nandini Pai.
