Mumbai: Collect the certificates now and do not ignore studies, money will come later, said former India opener Aunshuman Gaekwad to the recipients of the second Ramesh Rajde Scholarship award winners at the Garware Club House here on Monday. “The IPL has changed of the lives of the cricketers and their families. One never knows when your chance will come, but you are in your formative years. Cricket is important, but should you get injured only education will help you in your future,” said Gaekwad. Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) Vice-President, Ravi Savant said that the youth should be given the freedom to play any sport till the age of 15 or 16, then they could pursue a sport they wanted to specialise in. ScholarshipsTrustee Vijay Chowgule said Ramprit Singh Ghuman (under-13), Harmeet Singh (under-15), Gaurav Jathar (under-17) and Sushant Khaire (under-19) are being awarded the Ramesh Rajde Scholarships for 2007 after consulting senior cricketers and Dilip Vengsarkar, Chairman, BCCI National Selection Committee. The previous winners were Iqbal Abdullah, Ajinjya Rahane, Siddesh Lad and Shivprakash Jaiswal. — Special Correspondent
