KOCHI: The Kochi Corporation will spend Rs.2 crore for poverty alleviation and Rs.1.75 crore for the solid waste treatment project as part of the people’s plan programme. The draft proposal to this effect was cleared at the Corporation Council meeting held on Monday. The fund allocation for the other segments are the following: Agriculture Rs. 18 lakh, fisheries Rs. 35 lakh, education Rs. 90 lakh, drinking water Rs. 36 lakh and housing Rs. 2 crore. Several Councillors who took part in the discussion complained about the unjust distribution of funds. The complaints regarding the fund allocation and projects will be considered at a meeting to be held on July 12, said Mayor Mercy Williams.
