Domestic help held in robbery case
NEW DELHI: A domestic help has been arrested for allegedly stealing cash and jewellery from his employer’s house in Sainik Farms here this past week. The police claim to have recovered about Rs.97,000 from him.
Harsh Hari Modi lodged a complaint with the police on July 1 alleging that his domestic help Balram had stolen Rs.5 lakh and a gold chain kept in a locker in the house. Mr. Modi was away with his family when Balram called him up requesting for leave to visit his ailing father. When the family returned on June 30, they found the locker broken and the cash and chain missing.
Suspecting his involvement, a police team was despatched to his village in Orissa and he was arrested from his in-laws’ residence in Balasore on July 4.
