Thiruvananthapuram: At least 60 per cent students have passed this year in the B.A. final examinations conducted by Kerala University. A release issued by the university said 11,286 students appeared for various final year B.A. examinations this year. As many as 6,726 passed the examinations, of which 1,054 secured first class. The results are available on the KU website. G. Martin King and T. Francis of S.D. College, Alappuzha, shared the first rank in philosophy with each securing 602 marks. Priya Shaji (592 marks) of S.N. College, Chempazanthy, secured the first rank in English literature. K.H Shital (519 marks) of Government Women’s College, Thiruvananthapuram, came first in history. M. Sajeena Beevi (581 marks) of Mananiya College, Pangode, secured the highest mark for Islamic History. S. Sharun (580 marks) is the first rank holder in political science. G.G. Gopila (676 marks) of Government Women’s College is the top scorer in economics. S.T. Leena (718) of Chempazhanthy S.N. College secured the first rank in psychology. V.S. Pradeesh of M.G. College scored 633 marks to become the top ranker in sociology. V.J. Leen Raj (663 marks) of Dhanavachapuram VTMNS College came first in Malayalam. S.L. Akhil of Government College, Attingal, scored 644 marks to win the top rank in Hindi. Adeepa M. Hanif of University College got 644 marks to become the top scorer in Arabic. The first rank in Tamil was won by P. Vel Kuthalamum (539 marks) of University College. S.S. Sarika of the same college scored 615 marks to emerge the topper in Sanskrit general B.A. examinations. S. Sanal Kumar (543 marks) of Government Sanskrit College got the first rank in B.A. Sanskrit Special. Sanskrit Grammar B.A. rank goes to S. Sumathi (572 marks) of Government Sanskrit College. V. Rajani of D.B. College Sasthamkottai scored 628 marks to come first in Sanskrit Special Vedanta. Government Sanskrit College student S. Suleka (556 marks) got the first rank in B.A. Sanskrit Special Sahitya. A.S. Sreetha (519 marks) came first in B.A. Sanskrit Special Jyothisha. V. Sithara (685 marks) of NSS College, Niramankara, came first in BA Music.
