BHUBANESWAR: The high profile Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC) under the Ministry of Culture has resolved to honour an outstanding artistes from each of its nine member states – Assam, Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal, Tripura, Sikkim, Manipur, Jharkhand and Andaman and Nicober Islands. The resolution was adopted in the day long governing body meeting of the EZCC at Puri on Monday that was attended by 60 delegations from the member states. The participants included Orissa Culture Minister S.N.Patro, his counterpart in Bihar Government Renu Devi and Union Culture Ministry director A.K.Singh apart from commissioners of culture of the member states. EZCC director Anuradha Mukharjee chaired the meeting. Sharing his views, Mr.Patro prevailed upon the EXCC to extend financial support to the artistes who are in diligent condition. Similarly, Ms. Renu Devi emphasised on conservation and promotion of tribal and folk arts .
