Man who attempted self-immolation dies
Hazaribagh: A person, who attempted self-immolation here a week ago and suffered serious injuries, died in a Delhi hospital on Tuesday.
Message
Tapan Soren died at Safdarjung hospital on Tuesday evening, CPI MP Bhubaneswar Prasad Mehta said in a fax message from the national Capital. He also demanded Rs.10 lakh government compensation for the victim’s family. Alleging non-payment of contract amount under NREGA by the block authorities, Soren on July 2 had tried to immolate himself after drenching in kerosene at Charhi Chowk here.
BDO suspended
The government had suspended block development officer Manmohan Prasad and panchayat sevak Braj Kishore Prasad after the incident.- PTI
