NEW DELHI: Ready to initiate change for a better work environment for its staff, Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital here has advertised for filling up the posts of nursing orderlies and safai karamcharis and is in the process of recruiting security personnel to prevent any further untoward incidents in the hospital. “Earlier we had brought in home guards to ensure that doctors on strike demanding better security at the hospital among other things get back to work. We have got sanction to recruit a hundred more security guards and that will ensure there are no more security-related problems at the hospital,” said the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, Dr. S. Batra. The hospital, which serves a large number of patients from the Walled City of Delhi and the trans-Yamuna area, is also planning to increase its bed strength. “We have been ready with the blueprint for expansion for some time. As and when we get clearance for it, we will go ahead with the construction work towards setting up additional wings at the hospital,” added Dr. Batra. Maintaining that adding more security and Group C and D staff was the hospital administration’s top priority, a hospital official said they were trying to ensure that adequate space was created for taking on the patient load that gets added annually. “We have to ensure that we are able to cater to the general public. The hospital is all set to start work on its orthopaedic block,” informed Dr. Batra.
