Karunakaran loyalists on KPCC

Thiruvananthapuram: The long-awaited repatriation of the followers of K. Karunakaran in the Congress has become a reality.

According to reports reaching here on Tuesday, Congress president Sonia Gandhi approved the appointment of N. Peethambara Kurup, perhaps, the staunchest Karunakaran loyalist, as vice-president; N. Venugopal and Kodoth Govindan Nair as general secretaries; and Josy Sebastian as joint secretary of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). The eight persons who got places in the KPCC executive are T.V. Chandra Mohan, M.V. Mani, K.K. Abraham, Karunakaran Pillai, C.P. Mathew, Kunjukrishnan Nair, Ibrahim Kutty Kallar and Sarasamma B. Nair. The five made All India Congress Committee members are M.T. Padma, Kodummon Gopinathan Nair, M.R. Raghuchandrabal, David Pinheiro and N.K.A. Latheef.
