Engineering college inaugurated “This taluk is poised for an industrial boom” PUDUKOTTAI: The Union Minister of State for Environment and Forests S. Regupathy has appealed to the entrepreneurs to start small and medium industries in and around Tirumayam. Speaking after inaugurating the Chendhuran College of Engineering and Technology at Pilivalam near Tirumayam on Sunday, the Minister said that Tirumayam taluk had a potential for starting several industries. The starting of a number of colleges would, in course of time, produce skilled engineers, technicians and technocrats. The taluk was poised for an industrial boom, he said appealing to the promising entrepreneurs in the periphery to come forward to start industries. He assured them of all possible assistance for expeditious setting up of their industrial units. The Chairman and Managing Trustee of Tiruchendur Murugan Trust, R. Vairavan, said that the college offered undergraduate courses in B.E. Electrical, Electronics, Computer and B.Tech. (Information Technology). The Chairman of the City Union Bank, S. Balasubramanian; the member of the All India Congress Committee, Karthi P. Chidambaram; the MLAs R.M. Subburam and S. Sundaram were among those who offered felicitations.
