Good response to Muslim Law Academy coaching programme

TIRUCHI: The free coaching programme organised by the Muslim Law Academy, Central Zone, with the active cooperation of the Tiruchi Bar Association for the aspirants appearing for the recruitment examinations for the posts of judicial officers (civil judges) has evoked a good response.

Over 200 lawyers from Tiruchi and the neighbouring districts and from the Union Territory of Puducherry, belonging to different communities, are taking part in the coaching programme. The list included 45 women.

The Academy has drawn a team of former and present judges, senior advocates who have specialised in different branches of law, teachers from the law colleges to impart specialised training to the aspirants, according to the president of the Central Zone of the Muslim Law Academy, Syed Tajudeen Madani. The Central Zone of the Academy is conducting the coaching camp for the first time, he added.

Principal Judge, Family Court, Chennai, S. Vimala who addressed a session at Jamal Mohamed College in the city on Sunday highlighted the important aspects of Criminal Procedure Code, Civil Procedure Code and gave tips on writing the judgements. Explaining the intricacies involved in the preparation for such exams, she said that the answers should be precise and brief.

Judicial officers should be careful in writing the judgements. There should be no bias and the judgements should be to the point, she added.

A team of senior lawyers Natraj Vallatharau, A. Rajendran and A. Manohar handled the classes on CrPC, Nilamudeen, Professor, Government Law College, Tiruchi and Pitchai Pillai handled the sessions on ‘Constitution’ and Syed Tajudeen Madani and Shahabudeen on civil procedure code.

The coaching programme being conducted on Saturdays and Sundays will be continued till July 27, Mr. Madani said and commended the cooperation extended by the Tiruchi Bar Association led by its president Pushparaj and secretary, Gangai Chelvan.
