Two-day plenum of the party begins Top leaders of the party participating
All ears: CPI(M) State secretary B.V. Raghavulu with party district secretariat member V.S Padmanabha Raju at the party plenum on Tuesday VISAKHAPATNAM: Talk about alliances, emergence of new parties or leaders quitting a party are not of interest to the CPI (M) and the party will concentrate of people’s problems and carry on with the agitations and struggles for their sake till the next elections, State secretary B.V. Raghavulu said here on Tuesday. “All these issues are in fluid state and CPI(M) need not react now. We will react and take a decision after the whole process is over. The ruling party is also trying to divert the people’s attention from important issues by raking up unnecessary issues,” Mr. Raghavulu said while addressing the two-day party plenum for East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts. The party would take up the many problems and issues concerning the people like price rise, distribution of land, etc. as the Government was deliberately neglecting them. Agitations and struggles would continue till the next elections and it was for the people to decide to whom they vote for, he said. Eariler, party Srikakulam district secretary of the party Chowdary Tejeswara Rao unfurled the party flag to mark the inauguration of the plenum. MP M. Babu Rao, party’s central committee member S. Punyavathi, MLC M.V.S. Sarma, MLA of Naguru K. Lakshmana Murthy, district secretaries Ch. Narasinga Rao (Visakhapatnam), M. Krishna Murthy (Vizianagaram) and Dadala Subba Rao (East Godavari), State committee members B. Tulasi Rao, B. Venkat and Rama Rao, and Vizianagaram district committee member M. Uma Maheswari and others were present. Visakhapatnam district secretariat member V.S. Padmanabha Raju presided over the inaugural session. A large number of party leaders from the four districts are attending. Mr. Narasinga Rao reviewed the party’s activities and programmes in his report.
