‘People will reject LDF in polls’

KOCHI: People will reject the LDF in the next general election for opposing the nuclear deal, said Congress leader P.C. Chacko.

He was speaking at the INTUC leadership camp on the subject ‘politics of nuclear deal’.

The Left has adopted a negative attitude in the nuclear deal which will be detrimental to the interests of the nation, he said.

The Muslims were reported to be in most backward condition in West Bengal which has been ruled by the Left for the past three decades, said M.I. Shanavas. The backwardness of the Muslims in West Bengal was reported in the Sachar committee, he said.

INTUC state president R. Chandrasekharan presided. Congress leaders A.C. Jose, K. Sudhakaran MLA, Benny Behannan and K.C. Rajan presented papers on various subjects at the camp.

Writer Perumpadavam Sreedharan inaugurated the cultural meeting. K.L. Mohana Varma presided.

The camp will conclude on Wednesday.
