Bangalore: A Janata Dal (Secular) worker was bludgeoned to death late on Monday night at Kumbaranahalli, near Anekal. The police identified the victim as Muniraju (32). The police said that the incident occurred when Muniraju was returning home. He reportedly entered into an argument with Annayappa alias Krishnappa, who is said to be a Congress worker. Krishnappa and his sons Babu and Chandra then allegedly bludgeoned Muniraju to death. The accused are said to be absconding. A case has been registered. SuicideA 60-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Srinagar on Monday evening. The police gave the name of the deceased as Lakshmamma. The Hanumathanagar police have registered a case. Two die in accidentsTwo persons died in separate accidents in the city on Monday. The City Railway police said that Devendra, a security guard, was run over by a train while he was trying to cross the tracks near Okalipuram on the Yeshwantpur-Bangalore City railway track. He was first rushed to K.C. General Hospital and later taken to Victoria Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries. A case has been registered. In another incident, a pedestrian was killed when he was knocked down by a BMTC bus on the Bangalore-Mysore Road in Byatarayanapura police limits. The police identified the deceased as N.K. Ramesh (28), a store keeper in R.V. Engineering College and resident of Chunchanakatte. The bus driver is absconding. The Byatarayanapura police have seized the vehicle and registered a case.
