St. Bede’s, Santhome in final

CHENNAI: Santhome will play St. Bede’s in the Sumeru Soft under-16 inter-school cricket final at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, after both teams registered convincing victories in Tuesday’s semifinals.

V. Ganga Sridhar Raju (123) and S. Selva (67 and five for 15) starred as Santhome overwhelmed St. John’s, while B. Indrajith (62 n.o.) and B. Aparajith (four for 23) helped St. Bede’s outplay Chettinad Vidyashram.

The scores (semifinals):

Santhome 291 for two in 50 overs (V. Ganga Sridhar Raju 123, S. Selva 67, R. Vishnu 60 n.o., B. Rahul 25 n.o.) bt St. John’s 95 in 45.1 overs (P.T. Sivanesan 26, Shikhar Hukku 26, S. Selva five for 15, A. Karthik four for nine).

St. Bede’s 238 for four in 50 overs (R. Ananth 36, Leonard Bruno 35, K. Bharath Shankar 38, B. Indrajith 62 n.o.) bt Chettinad Vidyashram 104 in 40.4 overs (B. Aparajith four for 23).

Saravanan shines

Saravanan snared five, including a hat-trick, to bowl ICICI Bank to an easy 91-run win over Shri Ramana Heavy Engg. in the The Mobile Store Corporate Twenty20 tournament being organised here.

The scores: ICICI Bank 177 for four in 20 Overs (Amosh 45) bt Shri Ramana Heavy Engg. 86 (Saravanan five for 16).

Redington 137 for eight (Sunder 46) lost to Infosys 140 for 2 in 14.4 overs (Vinod 50 n.o.)

Convansys CSC 179 for six (Sabari 74 n.o., Pradeep Yadav four for 34) bt Consim Info 130 for nine (Raju 40, D.N. Shenoy five for 22).

Sports Mechanics India 214 for seven in 20 overs (Vetrivel 90) bt Ventech Solutions 102 for eight.

Big 92.7 FM 89 for nine in 20 overs lost to Sports Mechanics India 90 for five in 13.4 overs.
