NEW DELHI: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president J.P. Agarwal on Tuesday announced the names of all 12 teams of senior leaders, office-bearers and observers that have been constituted to start the process of finding suitable candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Mr. Agarwal said two observers have been appointed in each district, comprising one DPCC office-bearer in charge of the district, and one senior Congress leader who will sit in the District Congress Committee office along with the district unit president from Wednesday to start the process of finding the right candidate for each Assembly segment. The DPCC president announced the 12 panels, with three persons each, that have been constituted in each Assembly constituency following interaction among the district observers with MLAs, Municipal Councillors, those who contested the Assembly and MCD elections, former MLAs and Municipal Councillors, AICC members and DPCC office-bearers living in the constituency concerned, heads of the party’s frontal organisations, workers and voters of the constituency. Mr. Agarwal said opinions of a cross-section were taken before the constitution of every panel to arrive at the best names. He said the observers had also been advised to submit their panel of three names by July 15.
