KOZHIKODE: Siraj Ibrahim Sait, all-India president of the National Youth League, the youth wing of Indian National League, has asked the IUML to withdraw E. Ahamed from the Union Ministry in protest against the Indo-U.S. nuclear pact if it is sincere in its commitment to fight for the interests of the minority communities. Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that the IUML’s response to the nuclear deal was very similar to its response to the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992. He recalled that the then IUML leadership had ignored the advice of its leader Ibrahim Sulaiman Sait and continued its alliance with the Congress, leading to the latter forming the INL. “Just as it acted against the wishes of Sulaiman Sait on the Babri Masjid issue, on the nuclear deal, the State IUML leadership is also going to act against the wishes of G.M. Banatwala, its all-India president who died recently,” he said.
