Three arrested in gang rape case

Rajahmundry: Police have arrested three persons in a gang rape case.

DSP S. Saibaba along with CI Trinatha Rao and SI Gouse Baig told newsmen here on Tuesday that they arrested the three accused who are involved in many cases in the past. According to DSP, the police arrested D. Durga, K. Suresh and P. Bhadararao of Rajahmundry on Tuesday night and the accused confessed that they were involved in gang rape of a woman (25) near Apasara theatre on July 4th night.

The accused said they threatened Rambabu and Raju along with two women who were working in Sangam Hotel when they were returning from duty on that night. They chased away the two men and dragged two women to an abandoned house near Apsara theatre.

The three accused molested one woman and left the other as she belonged to local area. The DSP said that the accused were involved in murder, extortion, rape, theft and other cases. He said they opened PD Act on them.
