Review meet

Kakinada: The State Government earmarked 16 percent of funds spent by various departments on welfare schemes, to Scheduled Castes, 6.6 percent for the tribal communities and three percent for physically challenged. Combined efforts have to be made to utilize those allocations properly lest the beneficiaries should suffer due to paucity of funds for schemes aimed at their uplift, said district Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi.

The Collector was addressing a review meeting on the 20-point economic programme and tribal sub-plan.
