Conditional stay

Hyderabad: A Division Bench of the High Court comprising Justice T. Meena Kumari and Justice Ramesh Ranganathan on Wednesday granted conditional stay on collection of VAT and Sales Tax on the sale of rechargeable coupons sold by Reliance Telecom and Bharati AirTel. The Bench was dealing with the writ petition filed by the two companies. They contended that rechargeable coupons cannot be called “Goods” and sales tax and VAT cannot be demanded on their sales–Legal Correspondent
