Plea for 2 more family courts in Chennai
CHENNAI: The Women Lawyers Association (WLA) has requested the Tamil Nadu government to sanction two more Family Courts in Chennai at the earliest.
In a representation to State Law Minister Durai Murugan, the association said matrimonial cases had increased phenomenally in recent times. The existing three courts in the city were grossly inadequate and overcrowded.
The association also requested the government to allot a substantial sum as corpus fund for starting a maternity benefit scheme for women lawyers. — Special Correspondent
